WHO IS?

The veterinarian Zootechnician is a professional university manages the whole process of animal production, applying scientific methodology for the benefit of man, gives technical advice to producers, develops programs to prevent and control diseases that affect animals and prevents it can be transmitted to man through them. Dicta quality and hygiene standards and verifies in industrialization, storage, preservation, transportation and sale of foods of animal origin.Involved in the microbiological control of biological products, veterinary medicines and organic waste in order to protect the environment, plans and administers human resources, financial, equipment and livestock in the sheep industry and develops research programs to resolve problems livestock.


WHAT ARE THE OBJECTIVES OF THE RACE?

• To train professionals capable of increasing production of animal satisfactions.

• To enable graduates to preserve the health of animals useful to man.

• Train professionals to ensure the public health by limiting the transmission of diseases from animals to men.

• Develop individuals to contribute to the preservation of ecological development.


WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF DESIRABLE APPLICANT?

Skills: Must demonstrate greater intellectual and verbal skills, like textbooks and scientific. Under special conditions may require numerical and visuospatial skills, and less necessary the abstract.Skills: They are essential study skills, problem solving and adaptation.Interests: interests are indispensable for the development of outdoor activities and social services still needed the scientific interests of laboratory work and some persuasive activities. Under special conditions may need to develop office work and calculation. They considered themselves required mechanical interests, literary and artistic.Values: the theoretical values are essential and necessary social, human, political and economic.

Using proper techniques for obtaining, industrialization, storage and marketing of animal products. Development of standards and regulations to ensure public health. Implementation and execution of programs for prevention, control and eradication of animal health problems and zoonoses.Critical investigation of the problems of livestock production in the country. Generating new livestock production technology applicable in the environment influence. Using laboratory techniques in supporting the activities inherent to the profession. Application of ethical principles in daily activities, adhering to current legislation. Preservation of the ecological environment, optimizing the use of natural resources.

Social Sector: Ejidatarios, Communards, Settlers and Unions.

Public Sector: Federal, State and Municipal.

Private Sector: Companies and institutions in the field.

Education Sector: Teaching at senior level in Universities and Research Institutes, middle level and technical level of agriculture.


WHAT ARE THE OPTIONS FOR A PROFESSIONAL ASSESSMENT?

Individual thesis, dissertation in groups of no more than three sustaining, memory or individual report of a workshop, laboratory or clinic, memory or individual report on lessons learned in the practice of the profession, thesis, essays, scholarly article published in journal refereed, academic achievement, comprehensive review of undergraduate graduation, work of art. (To clarify the Professional Assessment options adopted by each school or faculty, will consult the agreement of the respective Governing Council H.).


DURATION

5.5 years (11 semesters)Time: Morning 8:00 to 18:00 hrs.Note: This race is not advisable to work due to course load and the time needed to study.

STUDENT PROFILE

The graduate will know how to handle the whole process of applying animal production scientific and technological resources more adequate to the environment, will be able to preserve the health of animals through the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and prevention and control eradication of major animal health problems and diseases transmissible to man may investigate the problems of livestock production, generating new technology applicable to the environment without detriment to the medium and low ethical standards.
